Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how LokFeed processes information in connection with the LokFeed mobile application. LokFeed processes only such information as is reasonably necessary to operate the service, including account identifiers (such as email, username, display name, and date of birth used to verify the minimum age requirement), profile information that you choose to provide, the content you post on the platform (including issues, posts, comments, photos, and videos), location coordinates that you attach to issues you create or interact with, and routine technical and diagnostic data such as device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, and basic usage analytics.
Information processed by LokFeed is used to operate user accounts, display user content on the platform, render maps and feeds, deliver notifications you have opted in to receive, detect and prevent abuse, and maintain the reliability, security, and performance of the service.
Content that you post on LokFeed (including issues, comments, media, profile information, and associated location pins) is, by the nature of the platform, intended to be visible to other users of LokFeed; you should not post on LokFeed any information that you do not wish to be publicly visible.
LokFeed does not sell personal data. To operate the service, LokFeed relies on a limited number of third-party processors and infrastructure providers. These include Supabase (authentication, database, and realtime services), Cloudflare R2 (object storage for media you upload), Render (cloud hosting for the backend application), Google Maps (rendering of map tiles and navigation links), Firebase Cloud Messaging (delivery of push notifications), Firebase Analytics (basic, non-personally-identifying usage analytics), Sentry (crash and error reporting), and Apple and Google as federated authentication providers when you choose to sign in via those services. Such providers process information solely on LokFeed's behalf, or, in the case of federated authentication providers, in accordance with their respective terms when you elect to use those services, and in each case in accordance with their respective security and privacy commitments.
LokFeed may disclose information where required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or other valid legal process, or where LokFeed reasonably believes such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of LokFeed, its users, or the public.
Information is retained for as long as your account is active or as otherwise required to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. You may delete your account at any time directly from within the app; on deletion of your account, associated personal data is removed from active systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by applicable law.
LokFeed implements reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect the information it processes, including encryption in transit and access controls; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and LokFeed cannot guarantee absolute security.
The service is intended for users who are eighteen (18) years of age or older; LokFeed does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under that age, and any such data identified will be deleted.
Subject to and in accordance with applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance, by contacting LokFeed at the address below. As required under Indian law, the designated grievance officer for LokFeed is Swati Pandey, reachable at support@lokfeed.in, who will acknowledge receipt of grievances within the period prescribed by applicable rules and respond within the timelines prescribed thereunder.
LokFeed may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the service or applicable law; material changes will be notified within the app, and continued use of the service following any such update constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
